Natural Vines is a wine agency dedicated to promoting the best wines the world has to offer. Every day we strive to deliver excellence in our work and our wines. Our product line-up and geographic spread means that the world can celebrate with our products anytime, anywhere.
At Natural Vines, our people are our most valuable asset. Made of up diverse educational backgrounds, the Natural Vines team has all the attributes of a successful organization. In our world, the people we include on our team are the people that work with us, share our beliefs and celebrate our successes. The Natural Vines family was first established in Toronto, Canada with a long history in all things wine, founded August 11th, 2008.
John Carlo Meli, Director
John Carlo was born in Toronto and currently resides in the centre of the city. John Carlo holds an Honours Diploma in Business Administration and Marketing from Georgian College, he’s also a Philosophy major with an Arts Degree in Humanities from York University. As the founder and Creative Director, he works alongside the sales force catering to monopolies and suppliers. A first generation Canadian, born of Italian parents from a small town in the south of Sicily, John Carlo is the 4th generation of his family to make his living within the wine industry. His Great Grandfather and Grandfather were winemakers in Sicily, and his Father has managed retail outlets for the LCBO since 1970. While working at a restaurant in Queens, New York, John Carlo was inspired to sell wine and follow in the family footsteps. The rare minutes he’s not selling wine you may find him on a bike path in the city, or on the pitch (soccer field) where he fulfills his other passion, coaching. He loves his city, and he is an activist for the preservation of our environment.
Julia Gardner, Director, Marketing and Communications
The newest addition to the Natural Vines team, Julia Gardner, is a graduate from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Business Administration, specializing in Marketing and Communications. Her career started in the telecommunications industry working as a Marketing Manager for Bell Canada on numerous high profile campaigns for Internet and TV. Julia knew her love for wine would direct her towards pursuing a career in the industry. Julia brings a wealth of marketing knowledge to this key role. Currently, Julia is in the midst of becoming Certified Wine Specialist from the George Brown College Culinary Program.
Paul Kania, Director, Accounting and Administration
Paul, an accountant currently working towards becoming a CA, graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Arts, majoring in both Philosophy and Economics. He has been in public practice for over 6 years, and has developed a wealth of knowledge in many aspects of business. Combining his two passions, wine and accounting, Paul is able to provide stability and support in this rapidly evolving industry. Along with developing his pallet for wine, Paul loves to travel, play his guitar, and take part in various recreational sport activities.
Michael Sromek, Project Manager
Michael is a fourth year Ryerson University student majoring in Global Management. He has been involved in various school groups and clubs, working with a team of ambitious student leaders. Michaels past work experience includes working with the LCBO, as well as working for the Ministry of Government Services as an accounting representative. Upon graduation, Michael plans on traveling parts of the world and working towards an MBA.
