Natural Vines is a proud supporter of the Fairtrade movement. What is Fairtrade? Fairtrade is an international labelling organization, created in 1988. Fairtrade using an intensive list of criteria to designate crops as being sustainable and socially-conscious, and ensures that ethical trading of goods and services takes place.
Organic wines are produced with organic grapes. Before grapes can be certified as “organic” they must meet specific criteria set up by organizations such as the USDA or Canada Organic. For wineries, organic certification means that no artificial flavours were added to the wine, and no pesticides or chemical fertilizers were used on the grapes. Note that labels reading “made with organic grapes” contain at least 70% organic grapes.
